Where do your pearls come from?
Virtually all of our pearls come from Southeast Asia - the Philippines, Indonesia and China are the most common places.
And what about the ornamental pieces on your jewelry?
Those come from all over; the Americas, Asia and Europe. I'm always looking for that little something that will make my jewelry shine like no other.
What kind of business is Mercedes & Beatrice?
We’re a family-run business. I make the jewelry and my husband and son create the website and other forms of promotion. We're looking to grow, though.
Who is Beatrice?
That’s the name of my daughter.
What happens if my necklace breaks?
In the rare case that this happens please return it back to us and we’ll repair it and refund the postage, as well.
Are these one-of-a-kind pieces?
Upwards to 90% of my jewelry is one-of-a-kind original pieces created by myself; so, if you see something you like make sure to grab it. Once it’s gone...it’s gone.
Can adjustments be made to my necklace after purchase?
In most cases, no. Because these are mostly one-of-a-kind pieces - finding additional parts in order to alter the necklace can be extremely difficult. Let us know if you have a question regarding this, though.
Does any of your jewelry contain lead?
Absolutely not. I take special care to make sure my pieces are lead-free.
Do you have your own store where we can see your creations first hand?
Not yet, but I'm working towards that. In the meantime, you can check out Splurge in Northbrook, IL. They have a number of my pieces for sale.
